Jazz Jennings’ bottom surgery is not a walk in the park, and this is what the trans teen’s mother, Jeanette, realized when her daughter experienced some complications and was forced to undergo an emergency surgery.

In the latest “I Am Jazz” update TLC shared on YouTube, Jeanette is seen struggling to collect herself after rushing Jazz for another operation. In one scene, Jeanette walks toward the back of the elevator and holds onto the handrails before looking down to the floor for a brief moment.

When Jeanette raises her head, she instantly shuts her eyes while fighting tears. As she was visibly on the verge of losing it, Jazz’s doctor asks her if she’s OK. Jeanette then quickly responds that she’s fine. However, she admits that it sucks because she’s been holding her emotions for so long.

Moments before her emotional breakdown, Jeanette actually put on a brave front as she was taking Jazz back to the hospital. She even hugged a crying Jazz and gave her a pat on the back while telling her that she got this.

“You’re the strongest and bravest person I ever know,” Jeanette tells Jazz while she comforts the latter before her emergency surgery. “You’re gonna get through this. It’s gonna be OK,” she says while wiping her daughter’s tears.

Jazz apparently needs to go under the knife once again because the sutures in her vagina aren’t healing like they’re supposed to. Worse, the tissue graft that was used didn’t show positive signs of healing.

Earlier in the season, Jazz expressed her disappointment after learning from Dr. Marci that she might undergo another surgery as part of her transformation. Her doctors were unfortunately not seeing signs of progress from her bottom surgery, and so they needed to perform another skin graft to enhance the appearance of her vagina.

“I knew it was going to be a long process, but I didn’t think it was going to go down like this and that I wold need this third skin graft operation. I try to stay positive, but this news is just really devastating,” she said.

Meanwhile, Jazz previously made it clear to her parents that she’s eager to learn how to kiss and do other things couples do now that she’s done with her bottom surgery. She made this point after revealing that she has a boyfriend named Ahmir Steward.

However, Jeanette and Jazz’s father, Greg, told her that she should not rush things like this. Jeanette even warned the LGBT advocate that she should wait months after the surgery and for her wounds to completely heal before she could have sex.
