  • Jazz has been required to set up a whole new clinical team in Boston if she wants to attend Harvard

Jazz Jennings’ mom, Jeanette Jennings, is worried about the trans activist’s readmission petition to Harvard.

A sneak peek at the all-new episode of “I Am Jazz” Season 7 showed the mother and daughter duo getting anxious about the possible outcome of Jazz’s request to re-enroll at the prestigious school.

“Tomorrow they’re going to decide if I’m going to Harvard or not,” Jazz said in the trailer released exclusively via People.

“This is like the defining moment in your life,” Jeanette chimed in.

Jazz then admitted that’s she’s quite worried about the fact that a life-changing moment was going to be decided by other people instead of her.

“It’s hard because we’re not even the ones who make the decision, we have to leave it up into the hands of these people we don’t even know,” the 21-year-old reality star said.

Jazz went on to say that she’s just crossing her fingers that the outcome would be in her favor. On the other hand, Jeanette said that she’s nervous for her daughter.

“This is one of the most-nerve-wracking things ever,” Jeanette said.

In a confessional, Jeanette noted that Jazz’s enrollment at the Ivy League school has been a long time coming.

“Jazz deserves this, it is our time to celebrate, it has been a rough two years,” she said.

Jazz got accepted to Harvard back in 2019 when their reality show was on its fifth season. At the time, she received letters indicating that she got into both Harvard and Pomona College. By the end of the season, she decided to pick the former.

However, Season 6 showed that Jazz opted to defer her admission and delay starting college because she wanted a gap year to work on herself. According to her, she needed time to deal with her severe mental health issues.

When she was ready to enter college in early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic happened, and she was forced to postpone her academic plans yet again.

This year, she’s eager to pursue her studies in the fall. But before she could be readmitted to Harvard, the institution required her to show that she has been productive all this time. This led Jazz to take an internship at her doctor’s clinic, as shown in the earlier episodes of this season.

Additionally, Harvard asked Jazz to establish a whole new clinical team in Boston to keep track of her mental stability. Jazz’s therapist and psychiatrist are in Florida, so she will need a new team of professionals close to her campus if she wants to get readmitted.

“Harvard gave us one week to establish a whole new clinical team and so over the past week my mom and I have made some calls, contacted the right people and we finally have a new clinical team in place, should I get readmitted to Harvard,” Jazz said in the teaser trailer.

“I got my productivity requirement by interning with Dr. Gallagher, I got my signed therapist letter and I got my clinical team set up at Cambridge. I know that I've done everything I could to prepare myself for this next step but my fate rests in their hands,” she added.

“I Am Jazz” Season 7 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
