Every year for the past decade thousands of people have attended the iHeartRadio Music Festival and watched their favorite artists perform in Las Vegas. However, this year's musical event will look a bit different due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the interest in adhering to new social distancing guidelines.

The "virtual two-day mega-concert" will feature live performances from both Los Angeles and Nashville, which will each take place in front of a virtual audience, according to a press release. When speaking to Variety, John Sykes, president of entertainment enterprises for iHeartMedia, elaborated on why certain changes were put into place and what viewers can specifically expect to see.

After discussing the 2020 concert event with Tom Poleman, chief programming officer for iHeartMedia, the two decided that they could still put on a show with the facilities that they already had in place. As a result of the changes, the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles will be "completely scrubbed and cleaned with no audience."

Production teams will remain outside of the building for the duration of the iHeartRadio Music Festival and work remotely in order to make sure each performance runs smoothly. Artists will also have the venue to themselves, allowing them to "rehearse, plug in and play live." This means that five artists a night will appear. The performances will then end up on a live radio broadcast and video stream and later be compiled into a two-part special that will air on The CW the following week.

As for the list of performers that are readying to make their way to the stage later this year, K-Pop group BTS, "Bad and Boujee" musicians Migos, "We Can't Stop" singer Miley Cyrus, and others will virtually perform their hit songs.
