“Insatiable” was met with a lot of negative feedback when it landed on Netflix last year. But the revenge comedy series is certainly coming back this year. Lead star Debby Ryan has even teased a little something about the show’s sophomore run.

Warning: This article contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen “Insatiable” Season 1 yet, it’s best to steer clear of this report until you’ve finished watching all 12 episodes.

Ryan was tight-lipped about the plot of the second season, which is set to start filming at the end of this month. However, she did drop a mini-spoiler when she told W magazine, “I’ll say that we definitely step into a lot of the characters.”

The 25-year-old actress did not give the specifics so it could be anyone from the cast except for Christian (James Lastovic) and Stella Rose (Beverly D’Angelo) since both were killed by Ryan’s Patty in the shocking finale.

The freshman run of the series ended with Patty calling Bob Armstrong (Dallas Roberts) to help her in covering up the murder of Christian, who went psycho and kidnapped Magnolia (Erinn Westbrook) toward the finale. Unfortunately, dragging Christian’s car to the lake wasn’t such a good idea since it didn’t really sink to the bottom.

Season 2 could pick up where the first season ended. But hopefully it won’t just focus on the aftermath of the murders. There are so many storylines that still need to be further explored, like Bob’s complicated relationship with wife Coralee (Alyssa Milano) and lover Bob Barnard (Christopher Gorham).

Meanwhile, Ryan also revealed in her latest interview what drew her into doing the show. According to her, she instantly fell in love with the script since it tackled an idea that she herself had also thought of.

“It totally touched on this idea that I had had inside of me,” she said. “I loved the duality of it, I loved that it was so broad and funny.”

Ryan also admitted that she’s aware of the backlash and mixed reviews, but she’s definitely happy that many people understood what the show was going for.

“The thing that was validating was people being like, ‘I get it.’ If that multiple millions of people internationally, or if that was 14 people, that’s cool,” she said.

Obviously, it’s more of the former than the latter because “Insatiable” became the ninth most binged original series on the streaming service last December.

“Insatiable” was renewed by Netflix for a second season on Sept. 12, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
