While Kate Middleton is rumored to have a few issues with her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, it doesn’t appear she needs to be concerned about her relationship with Queen Elizabeth II. It has been reported that the reigning monarch and the Duchess of Cambridge are in a good place, so much so, they have weekly get-togethers.

Commenting on their rough start following the beginning of Kate’s relationship with Prince William in 2003, OK! Magazine reports in their April 1 print issue that Kate and the Queen are now on good terms. “The Queen truly sees Kate as family and the feeling is mutual,” a source told the publication.

After being a member of the British royal family for over seven years following her marriage Prince William, Kate has reportedly earned the respect of the Queen. “Kate’s always listened and taken the Queen’s advice. She takes her duty seriously and that impresses the Queen,” shared a source.

“They actually have quite a lot of fun together,” added an insider, who said the pair meet “weekly” for tea. It is there that the two are said to discuss upcoming royal commitments and Kate and William’s three children, Prince George, 5; Princess Charlotte, 3; and Prince Louis, 11 months.

Said a source, “The Queen sees something of herself in Kate. She never expected to become the sovereign so young and Kate didn’t grow up knowing she’d be a Princess. But she admires the way Kate handles it all.

It won’t be long until it’s William’s turn as King, and Kate will be taking on a lot of her responsibilities. The Queen knows she’ll be leaving The Firm in good hands.”
