Apple Putting Pressure To Reduce Production Delay

Apple is reportedly putting pressure on suppliers to minimize production delays for the upcoming flagship iPhone 12 series. The series of lockdowns in the U.S. and China caused by the lethal coronavirus placed the Cupertino tech giant behind its original schedule to release the iPhone 12 line up. Nikkei Asian Review reported that Apple is facing between four weeks and two months of mass production delays.

According to the publication, an unnamed source told them that Apple is facing months of delay in terms of production. However, the company is reportedly doing everything to cut the postponement, the site noted. There is a chance that the schedule could still move ahead, the report added.

Some members of the hardware development team of the company returned last month to try to keep up with the schedule, Nikkei said. The same source reportedly told the site that several product-related project deadlines were moved up following the hardware development team's return. Aside from this, another source informed the publication that the Cupertino company pressed suppliers to hasten their work. While the source claimed that Apple is putting a lot of effort to stick with its timeline, it clarified that the situation is still uncertain.
