Isaiah Mustafa Thanks ‘Shadowhunters’ Fans For Congratulatory Messages After Engagement Announcement

“Shadowhunters” star Isaiah Mustafa is ready to settle down.

The actor took to Twitter to share the news that he asked his girlfriend Lisa Mitchell to marry him during their vacation in New Zealand. Mustafa shared a video of the two of them shot via a drone.

In the video he called “Drone-posal,” Mustafa said: “When she thinks you’re taking drone shots for your ‘travel blog’ but you propose.”

After receiving well wishes from fans of his Freeform series, the actor shared his message of thanks on Twitter, saying: “Thank you to everyone for all the congrats on our engagement!” He added, “Also, wanted to take a moment to thank the best fandom out there. #Shadowhunters You guys can’t be outdone! I love you!”

Mustafa has been quiet about his love life, although he did share during an interview with Express in 2013 that while he looks suave in the ads he made for Old Spice, he’s actually a bit shy when it comes to approaching women in real life.

“I’m shy when it comes to women; I’m not loud and brash like him,” Mustafa said, comparing himself to the character he played in the ad. “I don’t normally approach women. I’m very quiet. I’m not a loud person and the character is very bold so they think they’re going to get that and then they get me.”

The character has definitely made him easy to spot. Mustafa also said that he had received many odd requests from women after his starring stint.

Aside from the Old Spice character, Mustafa is also making waves as Luke in the television adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s “The Mortal Instruments.” Catch Mustafa as the head of the New York’s wolf pack when the series, which also stars Katherine McNamara and Dominic Sherwood, premieres its second season on Jan. 2, 2017.
