Israeli fans of American pop star Madonna have asked the country’s Prime Minister to delay any bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities until after the Material Girl’s planned concert in the Jewish state.

A Facebook page has been established for Madonna’s Israeli fans who are begging that Benjamin Netanyahu postpone any attack on Iran – Madonna is scheduled to perform in Tel Aviv on May 29 to kick off her world tour.

Speculation has been spiraling that Israel will launch a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities to prevent the Islamic Republic from developing atomic weapons, While the United States has not openly endorsed such an attack, it has not vociferously opposed it either.

The fan group directly stated: Bibi [Netanyahu] don't start a war with Iran until after Madonna's show on May 29.

Indeed, if Madonna herself is afraid that Israel may be attacked by Iran in retaliation, she could cancel any visits to Israel. According to Israel’s Haaretz newspaper, a number of American and European stars have shelved tours of Israel out of security fears.

For example, British new wave band Depeche Mode cancelled performing in Tel Aviv in 2006 during Israel’s bombardment of Hezbollah militants in Lebanon. (The band later opened its 2009 world tour in Israel).

U.S. hard rock band Red Hot Chili peppers cancelled Israeli performances in 2001 during the second Palestinian intifada. They were likely scared off by two suicide bombings.
