Ivanka Trump was accused of "romanticizing tragedy" by several online users on Twitter.

The First Daughter is fond of sharing various stories on Twitter that are moving and emotional. Just recently, she shared a report about the 15-year-old child who who carried her wounded father on the back of her bicycle for over 1,200 kilometers in seven days to appear for a trial next month.

“This beautiful feat of endurance & love has captured the imagination of the Indian people and the cycling federation!” she wrote in the caption.

However, the post was met with criticisms. According to several Twitters users, she was “romanticizing the tragedy” by sharing the story of the Indian girl.

“Stop romanticizing the tragedy,” @Iam_SyedIrfan wrote.

“Romanticism of poverty and misery during a pandemic! The worst kind of apathy!” @alindaMjan added.

“Don't romanticize poverty and helplessness,” @Whats_appp_uni added.

“Are you seriously this clueless? This kid and her family had to go through this horrific experience because of India's ill-conceived total lockdown which has resulted in a humanitarian disaster, not because she's aspiring to be a professional cyclist,” @rupasubramanya opined.

“This has blown our imagination seeing the helpness[sic] of the little girl n a rogue govnt,” another online user added. “So don't try to romanticise their suffering. She wanted a choice but never got it. Yes there is love n endurance in this stroy but that's has been tested in the most barbaric way.”

Meanwhile, several still showed support for Ivanka and her family. Others also defended Ivanka from claims that she was glorifying other’s misery.

“We praying for your family ... ,” @MedioAlt commented.

“She was just praising the love of daughter for her father. At 15 years of age she has show so much courage and bravery. It's not required to find flaws in everything,” @vyasnidh wrote.

One user sarcastically shared a photo of a family who are skin and bones and praised them for having size “zero.” Another user then defended Ivanka, saying that she is not a villain.

“ivanka is not villain. These people may have genetic disorders. Ivanka is no way responsible for that,” the netizen responded.
