What better way to wash down a Bacon Ultimate Cheesburger than with a bacon milkshake? The Jack in the Box fast food chain is now offering the sweet and salty confection for customers who just can't get enough of the smoky, porky treat.

Bad news first: The Bacon Shake has 1,081 calories, 37 grams of saturated fat, 3 grams of trans fat and 108 grams of sugar. (For those keeping score at home, that's seven more grams of saturated fat than you'll find in a Big Mac.)

But while we can't be sure, it sounds like vegetarians and those keeping kosher might be free to indulge -- the Bacon Shake is not made with real bacon, but a bacon flavored syup. (Stay tuned for updates on the composition of the bacon syrup -- we are looking into it.)

The confection is the latest development in the baconization of American cuisine: We've seen bacon-flavored cocktails, bacon foam, and the bacon donut. Will it ever end?

While the Bacon Shake can be found on the Jack in the Box Web site, it is not listed on menus at individual restaurants, meaning that customers will have to ask for it by name. The lifespan of the Bacon Shake is said to be as limited as limited can be.

Let's hope so. That said, please let us know if you've sampled the Bacon Shake -- is it as horrifying as it sounds?
