Exciting things are in store for Yael Grobglas and her “Jane the Virgin” character, Petra Solano. For one thing, Grobglas is going to be featured in Issue Magazine, where she will share some insight into her personal life and talk about her passions.

As for Petra, she will be finding new love after being left heartbroken by her former husband, Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni).

Executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman told TV Line that Petra really meant business when she threatened Rafael and his hotel. “Petra has a terrific love interest in the back half of the season that we’re all very excited about,” she teased. “Different things need to happen to get her there, which they do. I can only talk very cryptically, but we have a big event that leaves everybody in different places, and part of that is played out through her new romance.”

As for Rafael, he is currently enjoying a fresh, new romance with Catalina (Sofia Pernas), the cousin of his former flame Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez). However, several fans were concerned that Catalina will end up breaking Rafael’s heart. Jane’s grandmother Abuela (Ivonne Col) even said that she got bad vibes from the character, which meant that she could be up to no good.

Snyder said Catalina really does like Rafael, but the problem is, she is a huge opportunist. “What she originally was looking for changes. So you’ll see some of that in the next episodes,” she explained. “We left Jane feeling like she had overstepped and had to make it up to Catalina. Very early in the next episode, she will find out who that man was at the door, and she’ll be torn between running to Rafael and telling him right away or trusting what Catalina says about him.”

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
