Whether or not there will be a "Friends" reunion special has been the talk of the town for a few months now. As a result, different reports have surfaced regarding what's causing the hold-up with the latest rumor involving a speculated grudge being held by star Jennifer Aniston.

According to an insider, the 50-year-old actress and the show's creator, Marta Kauffman, need to squash their issues with money for the special to move forward.

Following Season 8 of "Friends," Aniston and the rest of the cast -- Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer -- united to renegotiate their pay to a whopping $1 million each per episode.

"It’s the elephant in the room that won’t go away until they’ve mended fences," a source told Radar Online. "Jen’s known to carry a grudge against Marta for not supporting the cast’s profit percentage, which made them all extremely rich."

The "Friends" reunion would bring back the cast and show creators for an unscripted special to help promote HBO Max, which launches in May and where fans will soon be able to stream all 10 seasons of the famous sitcom.

This isn't the first time money was reported to be an issue in regards to filming the special. In January, it was reported that negotiations had come to a standstill because of an eight-figure gap between salary demands and what the network is willing to pay. Now, nearly a month later, Deadline reports that all parties have come to an agreement and each star being paid between $3-4 million for the hour-long special.

The latest update comes after Perry, who portrayed Chandler in "Friends," posted a cryptic tweet on Tuesday which many fans saw as a sign that the gang is getting back together.
