More than a year after their separation, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux had an emotional reunion. Over the weekend, the estranged couple came together to mourn the loss of their beloved dog, Dolly.

The actors’ white shepherd died on Sunday, and the two came together to lay her to rest.

On Monday, Theroux shared six pictures from Dolly’s funeral on Instagram. Among the photos was an image of the “Maniac” actor holding hands with woman, who fans believe to be Aniston.

Along with sharing moments from Dolly’s ceremony, Theroux also wrote a heartfelt message about his dog’s death.

“Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle... our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. She was surrounded by her entire family,” the caption read.

Theroux wrapped up the post with a quote by George Vest. “The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful... is the dog— faithful and true, even in death.”

In 2018, Aniston admitted she named the pooch after country star, Dolly Parton. The singer later revealed Dolly’s presence during the production of their Netflix film, “Dumplin,’” caused some confusion on set.

“It was embarrassing, kinda, because there were several people there, and I’d hear [Jennifer] say, ‘Dolly, don’t pee on the couch! Don’t be knocking the water bowl over,’” Parton said during an appearance on “The Talk.”

“But actually, I think, probably, the fact that Jennifer has a little dog named after me is cute,” she added.

Aniston and Theroux’s sad reunion comes more than a year after the release of their February 2018 statement that announced their separation and desire to remain friends.

“We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship,” they said in their joint statement to Us Weekly.

“Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.

Following Aniston and Theroux’s break up, the actors kept their distance from one another. However, Dolly’s passing appears to have reunited them and reopened a line of communication.
