Jessica Simpson has sparked concern among fans over her "odd" behavior in a sponsored post for Flonase nasal spray.

In a video shared on her Instagram Story Tuesday, the 41-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer can be seen reading from cue cards as she promotes the allergy relief medicine. She holds a bottle of the allergy relief nasal spray in one hand and flails the other around in the clip.

Her followers and fans questioned Simpson's "awkward" demeanor in the ad, noting that she appeared "fidgety" and slurred her words.

"Painful to watch and sadly I love her," one fan commented in the accompanying post on her Instagram, adding, "Flonase, please hire a professional. That was embarrassing to watch."

"Damn, either hold the cue cards at eye level next time or have her memorize the script next time. This was awful," another claimed.

A third comment said, "Hope you are OK. You seem to be on something, definitely odd behavior."

"I have never seen a more cringe-worthy ad in her stories. Home girl needs to practice learning lines and looking at the camera," a fourth netizen wrote, while another commented, "Oh my god, her commercial was awful. She slurs her words, and she's so reading cue cards. ... Something is up with her. It was so odd."

However, other fans and pals of the singer defended her from critics and showered her with love and praise.

"You look gorgeous!!" Brittany Baldi wrote, adding a heart eyes emoji. Another Instagram user commented, "You are such a beautiful and inspiring queen! Feel better!!"

"You are absolutely gorgeous!" another fan commented, along with fire, raising hands and red heart emojis.

"Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself why you feel the need to comment negative and hurtful things on celebrities' posts," a fourth fan wrote.

"I never post on this stuff, but GIVE HER A BREAK! She is beautiful," a Twitter user commented.

Simpson has not publicly addressed the comments about her sponsored post.

The singer celebrated four years of sobriety in November 2021. She revealed in her 2020 memoir that she had an addiction to alcohol and pills, writing that her dependency was brought on in part by a traumatic childhood involving sexual abuse.

Earlier this month, Simpson opened up about losing 100 pounds in weight for a third time after sharing on Instagram photos of her rocking a bikini.

"It took three years," she said during an appearance on "The Real."

She continued, "I believe in setting small goals for yourself because in my life and how I've done it, there's easy ways to throw in the towel and just feel like it's impossible. So, the small goals for me are what helped me achieve the main goal."

Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson — whom she married in 2014 — share three children together: daughters Maxwell, 9, and Birdie, 3, and son Ace, 8.
