Joey King has no qualms about shaving her locks if a role calls for it.

The first time the young actress sported a bald head was in 2012 for her role in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises." She was 11 at the time. She parted ways with her locks once more for the 2014 film "Wish I was Here." King again sported a bald look for the Hulu mini-series "The Act " in 2019 when she played the role of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was forced to live like a seriously ill patient by her mother.

King has her head shaved three times for acting roles and she does not regret it. In fact, she said she would "absolutely do it again."

"I think every woman should [shave their head] at least once in their life," King said in a new interview with Allure. "I've never felt more free or more in tune with my beauty. I couldn't hide behind my hair."

Reflecting on her experience, King noted that sometimes people became more emotional about her exposed head than she ever was.

"A lot of people made fun of me when I had my head shaved. A lot of people said really mean things. But when I had short hair, I actually felt more confident; I felt very powerful. [Their words] slid off my back," she said.

The actress, who started acting at age 4, also clapped back at those who criticized her for shaving her head.

"People like to insert themselves in other people's business when it doesn't actually matter. Me having a shaved head for a project really upsets you that much? I'm doing fine," she said.

Previously, the "In Between" star claimed it was not hard for her to shave her head because she "never really had an attachment to her hair."

"I couldn't care less what happens to it. So many people would ask me, 'Are you really scared?' or 'Are you nervous?' or say, 'You're so brave.' And I'd go, 'I'm not brave. I'm just cutting my hair off," she said in 2019.
