"John Wick: Chapter 4" director Chad Stahelski has revealed the highly anticipated installment of the popular action franchise was going to be "longer" than the previous three movies.

The 53-year-old director also praised the VFX music of the flick.

"It's longer than the other three, but not that long. We're on the final stretch for picture lock, and then we have our VFX music," he told Collider in an interview published Wednesday. "But this is the furthest along I've ever been, this much in post. We love the music that we've got so far."

Stahelski shared musician Tyler Bates was doing the composition for some "bigger sequences," while VFX work will continue throughout the year.

"But we're dangerously close," he added. "In our edit, as far as our picture lock goes, we're within a few minutes of locking. Our sequences are done. The movie is essentially done. There's probably another few weeks of tweaking overall, then we lock picture, and we're about music sound and the effects."

The first installment of the action movie was dropped in 2014. The success of the movie led to "John Wick: Chapter 2" being released in 2017. The third installment, "John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum" came out in 2019. Now, the fourth installment is slated to release on March 24.

Stahelski previously shared his interest in making 10 more John Wick films. "John Wick" was Stahelski's first movie as a director.

Before that, he performed as a stunt coordinator in several popular movies and TV series including "300," "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "Iron Man 2," "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World," "The Hunger Games" and "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows."

He also worked as stunt coordinator with action stars like Sylvester Stallone in "The Expendables 2." Following his success as a director, he performed stunts for Marvel's 2018 release, "Deadpool 2."

Stahelski's future projects, besides "John Wick" fourth installment, include "Highlander," "Ghost of Tsushima" and "Gangsters of Shanghai."

Considering the upcoming movie, "John Wick: Chapter 4" will star Keanu Reeves in the title role. The flick will also star Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Asia Kate Dillon, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne and Halle Berry.
