If your New Year's resolution is to marry Joseph Gordon-Levitt, you might want to stop reading now. The actor and his girlfriend hosted a secret wedding at their house Dec. 20, People reported. The bride was Tasha McCauley, the co-founder and CEO of a California robotics company.

Gordon-Levitt -- the 33-year-old famous for his roles in "3rd Rock from the Sun," "(500) Days of Summer" and "Inception " -- had kept the relationship out of the press for years. He wouldn't even tell reporters her name -- "you can imagine not wanting to have that kind of scrutiny," he told Howard Stern in 2013.

"I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public," he said. "The girl that I'm with, she really doesn't want to be a part of that."

McCauley, admittedly, works pretty far from showbiz. She heads Fellow Robot, a company affiliated with NASA in Silicon Valley. McCauley speaks Spanish and Arabic in addition to English, has traveled to Antarctica and has an MBA from the University of Southern California. In a July interview, McCauley described herself as "the sum of many inputs, mostly arts and sciences, which can make for some surprising collisions."

Gordon-Levitt, who now owns entertainment production company hitRECord, told Stern he has long had a fear of women who loved him just for his fame. He said he wants to have children, the New York Daily News reported, but his schedule is complicated. "I like to not be too committed to any one future that's really far away, necessarily, unless there's a reason," Gordon-Levitt said.

In the meantime, news of his marriage was generating humorous tweets from fans who have nicknamed the actor "JGL." See some of the best below:
