In a time when the coronavirus pandemic keeps people apart, there are some who manage to come together — online. Josh Gad, the voice behind Olaf, managed to get the cast of “Back to the Future” and the “Goonies” to relive the good old days through a fundraiser dubbed as “Reunited Apart.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, the video was posted Monday and the “Back to the Future” cast dropped by during the second day of Gad's streaming series. The actor launched the series on YouTube and started it off with the cast of the “Goonies.”

Stars Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox kicked off the second-day stream. They were joined by other cast members such as Elisabeth Shue, Mary Steenburgen and Lea Thompson. Screenwriter Bob Gale and writer-director Robert Zemeckis also joined the fun, alongside Huey Lewis and Alan Silvestri. Lewis wrote the song “Back in Time,” which was featured in the film.

The 80s hit “Goonies” casts were led by Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman and executive producer Steven Spielberg, MSN reported. They were joined by other cast members Sean Astin, Martha Plimpton, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, Ke Huy Quan, Joe Pantoliano and Robert Davi. Rounding up the call were Cyndi Lauper, who did a cameo in the film, and Chris Columbus and Richard Donner, who wrote and directed the film, respectively.

The two groups mostly reminisced their time on their respective sets. Some former cast members even read a few lines from the films, and some had their moments where they re-enacted their most iconic scenes. The “Goonies” cast, for example, shared some professional and personal updates, with Astin treating viewers to his “Troy’s Bucket” monologue.

Gad’s “Reunited Apart” series stands as a fundraiser for the benefit of the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, which is currently maintaining a COVID-19 response fund. While Gad has yet to reveal further details about the next episodes of the YouTube streaming series, it is expected that most future episodes will also bring back the cast and crew of quite a few iconic films from the past.
