Justin Timberlake just confirmed that he will headline Super Bowl halftime next year.

Timberlake is among the performers that were rumored to the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 4, 2018. The "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer just announced that he is indeed headlining the Super Bowl 2018 halftime show.

On Sunday, Timberlake shared a clip of him talking with his pal Jimmy Fallon on Twitter. In the video, the former NSYNC member asks Fallon about the time, which initiated their funny conversation. "Excuse me sir do you have the time?" the "SexyBack" singer asks. "I was going to ask you, Sir, if you have the time," the host answers back. "I do have the time," Timberlake replies.

Their silly conversation continues until Fallon asks the singer, "You're doing the halftime show at the Super Bowl?" Timberlake stares at the camera while Fallon starts jumping while screaming, "You do the halftime." After a split second, the "Cry Me a River" singer jumps with the host while saying, "I do the halftime."

People noted that Timberlake's halftime performance comes 14 years after his controversial appearance in the 2004 halftime show headlined by Janet Jackson. On stage, Timberlake ripped a piece of Jackson's ensemble while the former was singing to the "Rock Your Body" lyrics, "Gonna have you naked by the end of this song," which exposed the "All for You" singer's right pierced nipple to about 90 million viewers who watched live on TV. Other performers who took the halftime stage include Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Madonna.

Prior to Timberlake's confirmation, there were already a lot of rumors that he was the frontrunner to headline the halftime show for 2018 Super Bowl. The "True Colors" singer was reportedly just finalizing a deal with NFL. Timberlake is expected to perform solo and will not be bringing any of his collaborators in as surprise guests.

Aside from Timberlake, among the artists who were reportedly considered to headline the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show include Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Adam Lambert and Queen, and the Korean pop band BTS.
