K-pop band Shinhwa vocalist Shin Hye-Sung was arrested in the wee hours of Tuesday after he refused to comply with a breath analyzer test while parked in the middle of the street in Songpa District of Southern Seoul.

Authorities received a report that traffic was disrupted in Songpa district after a driver of a car fell asleep in the middle of the road, Soompi reported. Initial reports said the boy band member was found at around 1:40 a.m. inside a car that was stolen.

The singer's management agency, Liveworks Company, later revealed in an official statement that Shin received the car keys from a valet parking attendant after having dinner with acquaintances at a restaurant in Gangnam.

"Hyesung, who had consumed alcohol during the gathering, received a set of keys from the valet parking attendant, then began driving home. However, on his way home, Hyesung stopped his vehicle on the road and fell asleep, and police were called to investigate the parked vehicle," the management company said in the statement.

"Afterward, Hyesung was arrested for refusing the breathalyzer test."

"Shin Hye-Sung has no excuses to give regarding the fact that he drove under the influence, nor that he took a vehicle without realizing that it was not his own. He apologizes sincerely for his actions," the "Perfect Man" artist's management agency added.

This is the second time the boy band member has been charged with drunk driving. In April 2007, Shin was arrested for another drunk driving offense which caused his driver's license to be suspended.

Disappointed fans stormed social media and voiced their disapproval over the actions of the popular singer.

"The fact that He didn't even realise that the car wasn't his is terrifying🥶🥶🥶... He must be extremely drunk. it's pure luck that nobody got hurt," a user said in the comments section of Allkpop website.

"Can't deny that I'm really disappointed in you, Shinhyesung. I love your talent, Your voice, and your charm all these 16 years. Then you broke all these things. = = Speechless," another user tweeted.

One tweet said, "From a person who always say "he is my ball of sunshine", "my happy pill", "he is my ideal type" (ok the last one was a cringe)...Shin Hyesung is a (red flag emoji)."

Six-member boy band Shinhwa was launched in 1998 and is known as the only K-pop group that has enjoyed 24 years of success without any of its members leaving the group.
