K-Pop superstar IU is releasing a new digital single this month, "Strawberry Moon," a follow-up to her hit album, "Lilac" released in March.

The K-Pop royalty posted a promotional photo on her social media pages, ahead of the release of the digital single on Oct. 19.

The teaser photo shows IU sitting on the passenger seat of a purple convertible with the words, "A dandelion," "weightless," and "A scoop of strawberry moon."

The "Palette" singer posted the teaser on her Twitter account writing, "IU Digital Single Image Teaser #1 2021.10.19 00:00 (KST) #IU #strawberry_moon."

IU's fans, collectively known as Uaena, rejoiced on the microblogging platform and welcomed the return of the 28-year-old K-Pop star.

"Can't wait for strawberry moon," user @lillyiu199iu said.

Earlier, IU released the first teaser image for "Strawberry Kiss" in a tweet showing a vivid pink moon, pink clouds and a blue sky.

The singer-songwriter captioned her tweet, "meet again when strawberry moon comes up from #IU."

Also known as Lee Ji-Eun, IU is the 10th most followed K-Pop star on Instagram with a total of 18.4 million followers on the photo-sharing app, as per South China Morning Post.

Aside from singing, IU is also known for her acting prowess and has starred in numerous Korean dramas such as "Dream High," "Hotel Del Luna," "The Producers," "Love Poem" and "Twenty-three."

Known for her endearing kindness and generosity especially to her staff and juniors in the entertainment industry, IU has earned the titles, "Nation's Little Sister" and "K-Pop sweetheart." One time, she even played "Santa Claus" to children in need when she donated $83,000 (100 million won) on Christmas Eve.

Last year, IU gave members of girl group Twice new iPhones, Gucci rings, and Chanel shoes after the girl group guested on her solo concert, "Dlwlrma," which marked her 10th anniversary as an artist. She also gave self-designed rings to fans who attended her concert.

The "Through The Night" singer is one of the wealthiest female K-Pop stars in South Korea along with Blackpink's Lisa and actress Suzy Bae.
