Kate Middleton reportedly became devastated after her expectations were not met before she married Prince William.

Years ago, the Duchess of Cambridge was expecting that a formal announcement would be made by the Clarence House regarding her engagement to the Duke of Cambridge. However, Prince William opted to not propose to the mom of three.

In 2007, one of Middleton’s friends told Daily Mail that the future queen consort wanted so desperately for her longtime boyfriend to ask for her hand in marriage. But instead of doing so, Prince William decided to split from Middleton.

The future King felt that all the fun in their relationship was gone that’s why he couldn’t propose to Middleton. Additionally, the dad of three wasn’t also ready to settle down.

“As far as she was concerned, it wasn’t a question of ‘if’, just ‘when.’ She openly admitted that she expected a formal announcement to be made by Clarence House…” the source said.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge was also forced to accept one important detail about Prince William’s personality. The source revealed that even though everyone expected Prince Harry to be the playboy of the royal family, it was actually Prince William would have a roving eye.

“He has always had a roving eye, far more so than Harry, who is meant to be the family playboy. That’s something Kate has always known and accepted - it as part of the deal if you like… I suppose in that respect, she would have made a perfect Princess of Wales… What has changed in recent months, however, is the way in which the public was starting to view Kate as a future princess,” the source said.

In 2007, Prince William and Middleton temporarily ended their relationship to attend to their personal issues. Months later, they decided to get back together, and they tied the knot in 2010 at Westminster Abbey.
