Kate Middleton and Prince William used to split the holidays between the royals and the Middletons, but they won’t be doing the same this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge used to visit Middleton’s family in Berkshire for the festive season. However, this time, they will focus on celebrating the holidays with the royals for a very important reason.

“Moving forward, Kate and William will continue to do Sandringham every Christmas Eve and Day as opposed to alternating like they used to,” an insider told Us Weekly.

“With the queen and Philip’s advancing ages, skipping years isn’t an option anymore,” the insider explained.

The royals usually reunite for Christmas in the Queen’s Norfolk estate. They attend Christmas service in the morning together.

Initially, there were reports claiming that Prince William and Middleton will skip Christmas with the royals due to their alleged feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex had a ghastly row that began last year. It happened when Prince William and Middleton invited Prince Harry and Markle to their home.

The former “Suits” star was reportedly judged as “downright rude” upon arrival. Middleton also told Markle something that didn’t sit well with the latter.

Markle complained to Prince Harry that she was being “told off.” The Duke of Sussex took his wife’s side. On the other hand, Prince William defended Middleton, who was pregnant with their third child, Prince Louis, at the time.

According to insiders, since then the brothers’ relationship has never been the same. Meanwhile, the royals can use the season to end their rift.

This holiday season will be Prince Louis’ first Christmas. In addition, Markle will be a mom soon. Thus, the duchesses may put their differences aside to enjoy the festivities together. Another insider claimed that Markle and Middleton had a great time together last year even if they were not overly friendly.

“They really loved Christmas and all had a wonderful time. I think the two women got on—they are definitely not best friends, but it was a really special time for them all to spend together,” a source told People Magazine.
