Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton focused on different areas for their first solo charity projects.

Harper's Bazaar recently compared Middleton and Markle's first solo projects following their respective royal weddings. The Duchess of Sussex, who loves cooking, took this as an inspiration for her first public solo project. Markle released a charity cookbook featuring recipes from women affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

Markle wrote the foreword for the book, which is called "Together: Our Community Cookbook." The cookbook will be released on Sept. 20. The former "Suits" star and some women from the Hubb Community Kitchen will cook for guests at Kensington Palace to celebrate its release.

On the other hand, Middleton became the patron of four charities nine months after tying the knot with Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge's charities include Action on Addiction, East Anglia's Children Hospices, art therapy charity the Art Room and the National Portrait Gallery. Middleton also announced that she's become a volunteer at the Scout Association.

Middleton has visited the organizations publicly and privately. In February of the same year, Middleton made an unofficial and private visit to Clouds House and spent hours at the addiction clinic where she met the staff and a number patients.

"The Duchess will continue to use her time to get to know people at the charity," a royal family spokesperson said. "You can't learn everything there is to know in one day, you have to keep going back to gain an in-depth understanding."

In related news, aside from the charities, Markle and Middleton's gala looks have been compared too. The two duchesses have different preferences when it comes to dressing for big events.

Markle usually dons suits and tuxedos. In fact, she wore a tuxedo dress at the Victoria Palace Theatre when she watched "Hamilton" with Prince Harry.

On the other hand, Middleton usually wears floor-length gowns. In 2017, the Duchess of Cambridge attended the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFNCCF) gala in a floor-length black lace dress.

In related news, on Sunday, Queen Elizabeth II attended a church service with Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince William. Middleton was noticeably missing on the said sighting. It is believed that the duchess is with her three children at home.
