Kate Middleton knows how to dress well.

Prior to Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Cambridge was the most popular royal when it comes to fashion. In fact, almost anything she wears tends to sell out, a phenomenon now known as "Kate Middleton Effect."

Anita Dongre, a fashion designer, recently claimed that the public is so enamored with Middleton's clothing. "Kate is an impeccable dresser who knows exactly what complements her," she told E! News.

According to Dongre, the Duchess of Cambridge's fashion springs from these five philosophies: elegance, feminity, comfort, simplicity and occasion. The designer noticed Middleton's varied choices and complimented the royal for repurposing her looks.

Middleton is popular for recycling her dresses. In fact, she was dubbed as "Thrifty Kate" for doing so. According to Dongre, Prince William's wife could pull it off because she knows how to switch up her accessories.

"She accessories her looks perfectly with the right shoes, the bag and the right hat," Dongre said about Middleton's success in rewearing her outfit.

Just like Middleton, Camilla Parker Bowles has started recycling her outfits too. The Duchess of Cornwall recycled her ensemble at Prince Charles' garden party in May by wearing it again on the second day of Royal Ascot in June.

"She always gets it right which is why today she's such a great fashion icon across the world," Dongre added. "Women everywhere want to wear what she wears."

It's true that a number of women wanted to follow Middleton's fashion. In fact, due to their ardent dedication in copying the duchess, the RepliKate community has started.

However, in October, a number of RepliKate accounts on Instagram were taken down. Janelle Nash, an Arizona native who loves to copy Middleton's outfit and post it on her social media had her account suspended.

"Already six people have lost their accounts with no real answer as to what violation occurred by Instagram. It feels very Salem witch trials," she wrote.

Fortunately for Nash, Instagram reached out to her and reinstated her account. "You may have recently had trouble accessing your Instagram account. We're sorry for the inconvenience, and you should be able to log in now. The issue we were having hasn't affected your photos," Instagram said in a statement.
