In this week’s special two-part series titled “Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce,” Khloe Kardashian speaks openly about her personal struggle with her stepfather’s gender identity crisis. Bruce Jenner recently made public that he is transitioning into a woman. Khloe shares her real thoughts and feelings about the revelation.

Khloe says that the special is the first time that she is speaking openly to people outside of the family about Bruce and his transition. She says that she feels anxious about speaking out because she is afraid of offending somebody. She wants to be careful with terminology and other things that could be sensitive to people who are transgender or are living with transgender loved ones.

In Part 1, which aired Sunday, Khloe is shown wrapping up several boxes of high-heeled shoes, which she later gives to Bruce Jenner as a gift. Bruce is delighted and sees that Khloe even brought a pair of shoes exactly like the ones that she’s wearing.

She says that she’s fine with Bruce dressing as a woman because she wants Bruce to be happy. However, when she comes to bring him her presents, things take a bad turn. He admits that he intends to fully transition into a woman next spring. Khloe is shocked by how soon that is and says that even though she’s supportive, it makes her angry when she learns that he’s planning things other than what he led her to believe. She says that she was under the impression that the transition won’t be complete for several years.

Khloe says that Bruce should be more open about his plans so that they can deal with his transition properly instead of getting surprised all the time. She thinks that it’s not fair for Bruce to make the transition so soon without telling any of his kids about his actual plans. To her, he’s misled them into thinking that they have several years to prepare.

Part 2 of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce” airs at 9 p.m. EDT Monday on E!
