  • A moment of awkward silence followed Hart's reaction

A video of Kevin Hart’s heated exchange with Don Cheadle during his guesting on his new Peacock talk show “Hart to Heart” went viral on Thursday. The clip showed their interview go off the rails after Hart reacted negatively to Cheadle’s age and Cheadle did not seem to appreciate it.

Hart welcomed Cheadle as his guest during the recent episode of “Hart to Heart” Thursday. At one point during their conversation, Cheadle talked about the passage of time, candidly saying, “And me, you know, I’m 56 years old...”

The viral clip showed Hart interrupting Cheadle as he spoke, uttering, “Damn!” His remark apparently did not sit well with Cheadle, who suddenly stopped talking and seemed disgusted as he looked at Hart.

The awkward moment came to a point where neither of the two could say a word. To break the silence, the host apologized to Cheadle but it looked like the damage had already been done.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry because it was a thought…” Hart told Cheadle. The guest then looked down before waving him with, “I don’t care.”

Hart went on with his apology, saying, “It was a thought, and I blurted it out. I did not mean it that way.” While Cheadle told him “I’m fine,” Hart continued to explain himself to his guest saying, “OK, but just understand I didn’t mean it the way it came out.”

At that point, Cheadle told him, “We’ll take a poll on how you meant it with people here later after the show’s over but…” While he was talking, Hart looked around the set as if trying to ask his crew to back him up. He then responded to Cheadle, saying, “I can sit up here and honestly say buddy, that that was from a place of love.”

Cheadle did not buy his explanation and seemed even more annoyed when Hart uttered “damn” again, although in a different way. “If we could play it back right now, these are two different ‘damns,’” he said.
