  • Dr. Garth Fisher was "saddened" that Khloe Kardashian required a procedure to remove a "dangerous" tumor
  • The medical professional said he's "relieved" the entire tumor has been removed
  • Kardashian also spoke about her health scare in a series of posts on her Instagram Stories

Khloe Kardashian's surgeon is speaking out on performing a procedure on the reality star to remove a tumor from her face.

Dr. Garth Fisher reacted to the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" alum's posts on her Instagram Stories Tuesday discussing why she has bandages on her face.

Fisher reposted Kardashian's Stories to his own Instagram account and shared his relief that the 36-year-old reality star was able to get past the health scare.

"Dear Khloe, you and your family have been dear to me for a very long time," Fisher wrote. "I was so saddened that you required a procedure requiring removing of a dangerous and significant tumor from your face."

He continued, "I felt like I was operating on my own daughter. I was honored that you put your trust in my staff and me. I am tremendously relieved that we got it all out and you can now get past this."

The surgeon wrapped up the message by telling Kardashian that she is "beautiful" and has "a heart of gold" and reminding her to "be mindful of too much sun exposure."

On Tuesday, Kardashian revealed her surgery via her Instagram Stories. She warned her fans that they will continue to see bandages on her face in the coming weeks, and when she's allowed to remove them, they will likely see a scar and an indention on her cheek.

"Until then, I hope you enjoy how fabulous I'm making these face bandages look," she wrote.

The "Kardashians" star also expressed her gratitude to Fisher, sharing that the surgeon was "able to get everything — all my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process."

"Thank you to my amazing doctors!!" she wrote. "Garth, I am so beyond grateful for you!!! I know how deeply you didn't want to cut into my face, but you did it to protect me. I trust you with everything and I'm so grateful we caught this early. I was lucky and all I have is a scar to tell a story with. Most people aren't as lucky as me and I am forever thankful and grateful."

In another post, Kardashian revealed that when she was told that she needed an immediate operation to remove the tumor from her face, she called Fisher because he is "a dear friend of my family and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills." She added that she was confident Fisher would "take incredible care of my face."

The mom-of-two also shared that she worked with dermatologist Dr. Tess Mauricio, who examined the tumor, and Dr. Daniel Behroozan, who ran the biopsy. Both reportedly said the tumor they found was incredibly rare for someone her age, which was why she was advised to have it removed.

Kardashian explained that she decided to share her story to remind people to "get checked, and frequently." She revealed that she had melanoma on her back at 19, and is "pre-composed" to it.

She said she wears sunscreen religiously daily, so the fact that she had a tumor is an indication that "no one is exempt from these things."

"Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as your annual checkups," Kardashian concluded her message.
