Kim Richards, one of the stars of the reality show, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," has been criminally charged for her drunken night out at the Beverly Hills Hotel in April, TMZ reported Thursday. Richards was arrested after she kicked a police officer while drunk.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney reportedly charged Richards with public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a cop. If found guilty Richards, who has checked herself into rehab, could spend up to nearly three years in jail. Hotel staff and police said Richards was “belligerent” on the night of her arrest and that she had to be dragged out of the bathroom.

Richards had claimed that she “poured a drink of vodka” at her daughter’s house and later admitted that the drink "was bigger than I thought." She had previously claimed to have been abstaining from drinking during the shooting of the fifth season of the show but reportedly resumed drinking after watching the show’s three-part reunion special.

Richards also appeared on the Dr. Phil show and took responsibility for her behavior. “I was angry and frightened and I was scared. I knew what I had done,” Richards said on the show, adding: “The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn’t drink.”

The 50-year-old reality TV personality has reportedly registered herself at a “live-in facility” in Malibu, “after consulting with family,” and sources reportedly said that Richards was willing to stay there for “as long as it takes.”
