According to latest reports, merging rapper and YouTube star Lil Peep died late Wednesday at the age of 21. This put an untimely end to his music career that began two years ago.

News of his death first emerged on social media, with people shocked to find out about it. "I’m completely heartbroken and lost right now," Peep’s manager Mikey Cortez said on Instagram confirming his death. "I can’t even feel it’s not real. I love you and I’ll miss you always. One of the realest. Please someone tell me this isn’t real."

According to Gazette Review, Peep’s estimated net worth, as of 2017, was $100,000. The late rapper made his money from multiple sources of earning, including the release of a number of mixtapes, a debut album, multiple concerts and shows, social media, merchandize and advertisements.

Peep released his first mix tape in December 2015, titled "Lil Peep Part One." Out of all the tracks in that mixtape, "Five Degrees" was the most streamed on YouTube with over 110,000 streams. The rapper followed that up with the following mixtapes — "Live Forever," "Crybaby" and "Hellboy." In addition, he has also released extended plays called "Vertigo," "California Girls," "Castles," and "Teen Romance."

Peep released his debut album, "Come Over When You’re Sober Pt. 1" on Aug. 15. It was a self-released project with seven tracks including "The Brightside," "Better Off (Dying)," "Save That Shit," "Awful Things," "Benz Truck," and "U Said."

In 2016, Peep performed over a dozen shows across the United States from, Los Angeles to Salt Lake City. His first worldwide tour kicked off in March and Peep performed for crowds in Russia, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands, among many other countries. He was supposed to perform at a show in Tucson, Arizona, on Wednesday, to promote his debut album. His tour was scheduled to continue till Nov. 16 and was scheduled to wrap up at The Observatory in Santa Ana, California.

Another major source of income for Peep was his YouTube channel. So far his videos have been viewed 40 million times and he has over 300,000 subscribers. Some of the most viewed music videos on his channel are "Benz Truck," "White Wine," "Awful Things," "Witchblades," "Gym Glass," and "The Brightside."

Lil Peep also has a website where clothes and accessories designed after the rapper’s fashion style are sold. At present, however, all the merchandize seems to be out of stock.

About 24 hours before his death, Peep posted a photo on his Instagram page that showed the rapper with his tongue sticking out, which was laced with pills that appeared to be Xanax. This has led many to assume that that Peep died of a drug overdose, even though the official cause of death has not been declared yet.

The rumors have also been fueled by a cryptic photo caption written by the rapper – "When I die You’ll love me." Most of the posts on Peep’s social media pages showed him drinking alcohol and using prescription drugs.

He also sent out the following tweet in February 2017: "I am a depressed drug addict and I'm nearing my breaking point. Everything I love is disappearing."
