Demi Moore is set to star in the upcoming film Lovelace as feminist icon Gloria Steinem.

Lovelace, the Linda Lovelace biopic, is currently filming in Los Angeles and will star Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody and Eric Roberts alongside Moore. The film is a based-on-a-true-story movie, Seyfried plays the Deep Throat porn star Lovelace who later denounced her pornography career by saying her husband Chuck Traynor forced her to do it at gunpoint.

Lovelace, whose real name was Linda Boreman, was a pornography star most famous for her performance in the hardcore pornography film Deep Throat. She claimed to face domestic abuse at the hands of her husband and noted that bruises can be seen on her body in the aforementioned film.

Lovelace's co-star in Deep Throat 2, Andrea True, said that Traynor was a sadist.

It's going to be really hard and kind of terrifying at the same time, Seyfried told ABCNews.com. I do have some liberties there but I am playing someone that existed in history and had quite an established reputation for something very extreme.

Brody will play Seyfried's co-star Harry Reems and Roberts will play lie detector Nat Laurendi.

The details of her role are minimal, reports The New York Post. Steinem, the face of the feminist movement in the 1960s and early 1970s, was a major critic of the pornography industry in 1972. In 1980, Ms.magazine -- which Steinmen co-founded -- published a story called Linda Lovelace's Ordeal about the abuse Lovelace claimed to have faced from her ex-husband.

Lovelace eventually joined the feminist anti-pornography movement. She testified in 1986 before the Attorney General's Commission on Pornography in New York City, stating When you see the movie Deep Throat, you are watching me being raped. It is a crime that movie is still showing; there was a gun to my head the entire time.
