Lindsay Lohan may have been blasted for her Saturday Night Live performance this weekend, but the 25-year-old actress drew record numbers of viewers to the renowned comedy sketch show.

Nielsen Co. data revealed that the hour-long show was the most-watched program in that time slot on any broadcast network, reported the New York Daily News. This was also the second highest rating for SNL this season.

Critics were quick to bash Lohan's performance, with some saying that Mad Men star Jon Hamm, who was in the audience that night, should have replaced the Mean Girls star as host.

Jon Hamm is having a better SNL performance than Lindsay Lohan #snl, one viewer wrote on Twitter.

However, the star was quick to come to Lohan's aid, according to MSNBC.

I thought she did a great job, Hamm said on TODAY this morning. There was so much scrutiny and so much pressure on her, but she handled it with grace and aplomb.

Regardless of the feedback her performance received, this weekend's episode of SNL was up by two percent in the preliminary numbers when compared to last week's.

The actress is rumored to play Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime movie called Liz & Dick, and in an interview with TODAY last week the star said she wants to move forward with my life.
