Make way for the newest Marvel villain, the "Gorr The God Butcher."

The latest pictures that have been leaked online from the sets of "Thor: Love And Thunder" show Christian Bale in a comic-accurate costume.

In the photos, shared by Twitter fan page Love And Thunder News on Wednesday, Bale can be seen dressed in a full-body costume, with silver skin and dark robes. His look is very much similar to "Gorr the God Butcher" in Marvel Comics.

"The first look at Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder! Filming has resumed in Malibu," the page tweeted.

Last month, Chris Hemsworth announced the team had wrapped up shooting in Australia. He shared the news on Instagram with a cheeky snap that showed him alongside his director, Taika Waiti, posing as "Thor" and "Korg."

"That's a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it’s also national don't flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate. The film is gonna be batshit crazy off the wall funny and might also pull a heart string or two. Lots of love, lots of thunder! Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this another incredible Marvel journey. Buckle in, get ready, and see ya in cinemas!! @taikawaititi," he wrote.

The crew is currently filming in Malibu, California.

The 47-year-old actor is not new to the world of comics, thanks to his role as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy. It looks like he is all set to dive deeper and explore a different kind of comic book lore.

But who is the latest Marvel villain?

Gorr the God Butcher first appeared in Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic's "Thor: God of Thunder" comic in 2012. He is an alien, born on a planet with no name and living every day on the brink of starvation. Gorr was taught to have faith in the gods, but after his children die of starvation and his wife gets killed in an earthquake, he decides to abandon his beliefs. He is then cast out of his community, because of his newfound beliefs.

While wandering the desert close to death, Gorr witnesses a pair of battling gods and realizes that they did indeed exist, which enrages him further. Ultimately his hatred toward the gods leads him on the path of revenge and destruction.

Gorr's origin story is quite grounded, and his sympathetic yet dangerous motives will make him an interesting foe of the "God of Thunder." And though the fans now have a good look at the movie's villain, the plot of the movie remains a mystery.

The hotly anticipated film from Phase Four of MCU is all set to hit the theatres on May 6 next year.
