Lori Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, have been a mainstay in the news in recent months following the disappearance of Vallow's children, Tylee Ryan and Joshua "JJ" Vallow. After the two children's remains were located on Daybell's property in Idaho earlier this month, he was taken into custody and charged with two counts of destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, which are felony charges.

Now, ahead of Daybell's trial, one of the couple's former friends is speaking out about how they "deceived her and about her fear for her life."

According to EastIdahoNews.com, Melanie Gibb posted a letter to AVOW, a preparedness website that stands for "Another Voice of Warning," that outlined what she experienced throughout her friendship with Vallow and Daybell.

Daybell, who has been described as "a prolific Doomsday author, alleged cult leader and former grave digger," initially came off as "soft-spoken" and "sincere," she said. However, she added that she believed he had ultimately shared some unsettling opinions with Vallow, including the fact that they had been married in a past life when he was James the Less from the Bible. Vallow, she stated, believed this, as she had already learned about "multiple probations (many lives)" on the Internet.

Gibb then said that Vallow also had visions of her first husband, Charles Vallow, dying and had allegedly become disappointed when it had not occurred. Subsequently, Daybell had then told her that Charles had been "taken over by an unclean spirit," which would later be referred to as a zombies, and was no longer himself. Additionally, she stated that she believed Daybell had "opened the doors of darkness" while conducting "dangerous" energy work, which are practices that are said to restore "the balance and flow of energy throughout the body, mind and soul," as explained by the outlet.

After news of the investigation into the whereabouts of Tylee and JJ emerged, Gibb said that she had become fearful that they had possibly lied to her previously. She then elaborated on how she felt following the realization, saying she "needed to pay the price of my sins by confessing them all to the whole world." Since then, she stated that she has helped the police, FBI, prosecuting attorney, and detectives throughout the investigation. Her letter can be read in full here.

Leading up to the release of Gibb's letter, the investigation surrounding Vallow's children had ramped up due to the discovery of their remains on June 9. After being taken into police custody, Daybell made his first court appearance since facing charges and learned that his bail was set at $1M. He has since pleaded not guilty and is expected to return to court on July 1.
