The super ambitious 53-year-old popstar Madonna once said, “I’m tough, ambitious, and I know exactly what I want.” Well, without a doubt she has downright proved it to be true time and again.

The Material girl is definitely the most successful solo artist ever. The Queen of Pop has recently set a new record for the most number one albums by a solo artist, the Official Charts Company, said.

Her latest album MDNA topped the UK charts, making it her twelfth chart-topper, pasting Elvis Presley’s record of 11.

So far, it has sold over 39,000 copies and is likely to top US charts as well.

Among the new entries, Harlem-born opera singer Noah Stewart soared with his debut album, just behind Madonna’s MDNA, becoming the first black artist to top the Charts.

In the singles list, Chris Brown made it to the No. 1 spot with his latest single Turn Up the Music becoming the highest charting single of his career in the UK.

According to the charts, Madonna has sold nearly 300 million albums in her career of about 30 years. However, she is yet to break The Beatles’ record of 15 No. 1 chart-topping albums.
