Mads Mikkelsen recently talked about the time “Death Stranding” creator Hideo Kojima explained to him the plot of the upcoming open world action video game. The “Hannibal” actor also reacted to the rumor that Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone could be part of the Kojima Productions’ project.

According to Metal Gear Informer, a video showing Mikkelsen’s attendance at the Saudi Comic Con in Jeddah in mid-February recently surfaced online. In the video, the Danish actor apparently talks about his involvement in the production of the video game and other stuff related to it.

At one point in the video, Mikkelsen tells the audience about the time Kojima explained to him what “Death Stranding” is really about. Unfortunately, because the explanation Kojima gave was so elaborate, he got lost while listening to it. “He was trying to tell me the whole plot of the game,” the actor said. “And it’s so elaborate that… I mean, I got lost. But I really wanted to learn more.”

In the same leaked clip, Mikkelsen mentions that he did have concerns over the motion capture technology being used by Kojima Productions, for it is very different from the ones he got used to when filming movies, as per Polygon. In the past, Mikkelsen admitted that this is the first time he’s joined a video game project, so it’s understandable why he reacted this way.

Interestingly, when someone from the audience brings up in the clip the rumor that Stone could be one of the actors for “Death Stranding,” Mikkelsen reacted positively. “I don’t know about that, but I really like that rumor,” he said. “That’s a lovely rumor.” It can be noted that back in September 2016, Kojima himself revealed that the game will have a female protagonist alongside Norman Reedus’ character. At the time, PC Games reported that casting was still underway for the heroine.

“Death Stranding” is reportedly set for a 2018 release. It stars Mikkelsen, Reedus and Kojima’s good friend and acclaimed film director Guillermo del Toro.
