A Kentucky man was busted for allegedly stealing about 100 pairs of women’s underwear and bras from multiple homes. Investigators recently gathered information that led to his arrest.

Officers from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested John Hawkins III of Harrodsburg on Jan. 22 in connection with a series of thefts in Frankfort. The burglaries took place in the summer of 2021 in the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park, according to 7News Boston WHDH.

Cops set out on a “lengthy investigation” that led to them finding several women’s underwear and bras at his residence.

“According to the investigation, Hawkins is suspected in burglarizing multiple homes and removing only women's underwear ... Recent information gained in the case led to Hawkins being arrested in his home in Harrodsburg, KY,” the sheriff’s office said in a Tuesday statement on Facebook.

“During the arrest and search warrant execution at Hawkins' home, the detectives recovered approximately 100 pairs of women's underwear and bras believed to have been stolen from residences in Franklin County,” the statement added.

Hawkins was arrested from his home without incident, ABC affiliate WTVQ reported. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the Harrodsburg Police Department also helped with the arrest.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Harrodsburg Police Department for their assistance and apprehension of Hawkins. With the teamwork of the Harrodsburg Police, Hawkins was taken into custody without incident,” the sheriff’s office added.

Investigators have also asked individuals, who feel their homes have also been targeted by Hawkins, to inform authorities.

“If you feel you were a victim in 2021 and did not report to authorities, please contact Detective Farmer at 502-875-8740,” the sheriff’s office said.

In an unrelated incident, reported last year, a homeowner in Ohio woke up one day to find a burglar fast asleep in their guest bedroom. Stacy Steadman woke her husband’s brother, Bryant Pearson, after finding the 33-year-old intruder in the house -- believed to have broken in the previous night. Pearson went on to chase the burglar out of the house, and on his way out, the suspect grabbed a pair of underwear that belonged to Steadman’s son. Steadman also said she later found the intruder’s soaking wet pants lying by the pool.
