A man was arrested after he raped his neighbor because he was turned on while she was breastfeeding her newborn baby. The incident took place in Sumatra, Indonesia, on Thursday.

The unidentified accused spied on the 33-year-old woman from his home. On the day of the incident, the man noticed the woman’s husband leaving home. He then spied on the woman, only to see the woman breastfeeding her newborn baby. Unable to “control himself,” the man strapped a machete to his belt and sneaked into the victim’s home while she was still breastfeeding the child.

The man then threatened the woman with the weapon, raped her and fled the scene. When the victim’s husband returned home, he noticed his wife crying. When confronted, the woman told him she was raped. The furious husband immediately rushed to the police station and filed a complaint. The woman told police that she couldn’t fight the accused as he was armed with a machete, and she was scared that he would harm her newborn.

Following a search, police took the accused into custody. If found guilty, the man would face a minimum sentence of five years. Meanwhile, the victim, who was traumatized by the incident, will seek professional advice to overcome the trauma.

The incident comes months after an Indonesian man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping his 12-year-old neighbor. The incident came to light after the girl’s mother noticed that she was not at home. When the girl did not return for several hours, she filed a missing person’s report. The following day, the girl’s father noticed the girl in the bus stand. When questioned, she said she had gone out with their neighbor, identified as Maxi Banfantri. She said the man took her behind a bush where he raped her.
