Executive producer and showrunner Jon Favreau has announced that the release date of “The Mandalorian” Season 2 will be in the fall of 2020. Filming has been ongoing for a while now, and more details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks after the production wraps.

Favreau shared a picture of an alien creature on his Instagram page and announced that the release date of the “Star Wars” live action TV series will be in fall of 2020. The finale episode of the first season was released on Disney+ recently and the fans are eagerly waiting for more stories about the bounty hunter.

What will the next season be about? According to Bespin Bulletin, the fans will not get to see Baby Yoda for a while. The character was central to the plot of the first season, but the bounty hunter may move on to other things as the story moves forward.

Filming of “The Mandalorian” Season 2 began back in October in Los Angeles. The show will take the fans back to some familiar locations in the fictitious galaxy and the series is also expected to introduce new characters and elements.

Not much is known about Season 2. The confirmed directors so far include Favreau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, and Carl Weathers. Famuyiwa directed episodes 2 and 6 in the first season. Weathers on the other hand was seen as the head of the bounty hunters’ guild Greef Karga.

The TV series is set around the time when the First Order came into existence. According to Deadline, there will be “several established characters” from the movies that will be featured on the show. Sources close to the production have reportedly hinted at this possibility, but it is not clear which of the characters from the films will be seen in “The Mandalorian” Season 2.
