Those watching “Married at First Sight” knew that the show was headed for a dark turn. The couples got married in mid-February, just a month before the pandemic went into full swing. A new video from Wednesday’s episode shows how tense relationships get as producers leave couples on their own in the face of COVID-19.

In the International Business Times exclusive clip (seen above), Christina explains that they’ve been told to stay inside. Woody says they can’t have parties. Miles isn’t even allowed to go inside his school building.

“For the first time in 11 seasons of ‘Married At First Sight,’ production has been shut down,” a title card says.

“I just found out that one of the guys I work with tested positive, so I guess it’s just hitting home because it’s the first person I’ve directly known that this was affecting. So that’s a lot,” Brett says.

“With production gone for the foreseeable future, our couples are documenting their lives together all on their own,” more title cards reveal.

The footage makes it clear that the couples have their handheld cameras, and the cameras inside the apartment will also come into play more than ever before.

Christina previously told IBT that quarantine changed her lifestyle by keeping her homebound. The flight attendant revealed that she didn’t spend much time working before lockdown started.

“While we were filming, I was only able to go on three or four trips before COVID struck… I actually spent a lot of time at home,” she said. Will that be good or bad for her and Henry's marriage?

“Married At First Sight” airs Wednesdays on Lifetime.
