Meghan Markle started a new trend when it comes to royal weddings.

According to her friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin, the new duchess changed the old mold. Instead, Markle created a new one that encourages acceptance. "Meghan created this new brand of fairytale because everyone who has a similarity to her now feels accepted," Martin told People.

Just recently, Martin shared a clip of Markle eating raspberry with her fingers to greet the Duchess of Sussex on her birthday. "Happiest of birthdays my friend," Martin wrote in the caption.

Martin and Markle have been friends for a decade. He previously confessed that he once asked her how he should address the former "Suits" star once she becomes a royal.

"I asked her that. 'Do I bow to you? I don't want to disrespect you, but I've known for almost ten years. What's up?'" Martin shared. "She started laughing and she said, 'I'm always going to be Meg. Meg.'"

Markle chose Martin to be her makeup artist on her wedding day. According to him, it was easy to work with Markle because she knew what she wanted. Prince Harry's bride reportedly wanted to look "timeless, effortless and chic."

"On your wedding day, you want to look back at your photos and think about how great you felt in your dress and not be distracted by how trendy your makeup was in 2018. I focused on bringing out her best self and elevating it to a level, that you're not necessarily able to achieve yourself," Martin said.

Martin seems to have done a great job as the groom was very pleased when he saw the bride. In fact, Prince Harry was caught on camera biting his lips and telling Markle, "you look amazing," when they met at the altar.

"After the ceremony, Harry kept saying thank you," Martin told In Style in its September issue. "He was thanking me for making her look like herself."

In related news, Kate Middleton is expected to share the travel tips that she learned from Queen Elizabeth II with Markle. The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex have scheduled royal engagements abroad.

Prince William and Middleton are bound for Canada in September. Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle will be flying to Australia for the Invictus Games.
