Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still entitled to use the crown logo, according to a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced back in January that they were stepping back from their royal roles. They carried their final engagement in March and moved to the United States after that.

Just recently, Street Games, a national sports charity dedicated to helping young people in the U.K.’s most disadvantaged areas, shared a letter they received from Prince Harry and Markle on Twitter.

The royal couple thanked the charity and wished them the best. Aside from the message, many noticed that the Sussexes still used the crown logo. Several slammed Prince Harry and Markle for doing so because they are no longer working royals.

However, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Prince Harry and Markle are still entitled to use it because the Duke of Sussex is the son of the heir apparent.

"They are entitled to use the coronet as Harry is the son of an heir apparent and Meghan was also assigned a coronet on their marriage," he told Insider.

The royal commentator also addressed why Prince Harry and Markle still use the Sussex website.

“I think that the use of sussexroyal.com which is still the link to their website, is because they have not yet been able to launch Archewell, their non-profit charitable organization, owing to the pandemic,” the former “The International Who's Who” editor said.

Aside from the logo, Prince Harry and Markle noticeably dropped their royal titles. The couple signed the letter simply as “Harry & Meghan.”

It was not the first time Prince William’s brother dropped his “prince” title. He also did it when he attended an engagement at the Edinburgh International Conference Center in February.

“He's made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry. So ladies and gentlemen, please give a big, warm, Scottish welcome to Harry,” Ayesha Hazarika told the audience after introducing Prince Harry.

Based on the Sussex website, Prince Harry and Markle remain as His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex. However, they decided to not use their titles because they are no longer working royals.
