Meghan Markle has been very vocal about how the persistent media scrutiny has affected her life as a wife to Prince Harry and a mother to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Though the Duchess of Sussex admitted she knew that being a part of the Royal family would not be easy, she did not expect that other people would be too harsh to her. Fortunately, she has her close pals and family members to defend and support her.

Daily Express revealed that Meghan and Sarah Ferguson share an "extraordinary link" even if they are two very different people. Just like Meghan, Sarah used to feel ill-prepared for royal life as well. The television personality revealed, in her "My Story" biography that she was "naive" about the media scrutiny she would experience when she, officially, became part of the royal family.

“Worst of all, I believed in my own press," Sarah revealed in her memoir. “I believed it when they said I was a breath of fresh air for the Royal Family – that ‘great fun Fergie’ would sponge away the mildew, like some Mary Poppins crossed with Cinderella," she added.

Recently, Meghan found another friend in the person of Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. Speaking to Vogue Arabia, the former wife of Prince Andrew revealed that she can totally relate to Meghan since she experienced the same amount of negativity when she was still living in the palace. The mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie said that, though Prince Harry’s wife is “modern and fabulous,” the degree of pessimism hounding her life is “so sad and tiring.”

“She was famous before. She is great. Why can’t Meghan be great? Why can’t she be celebrated? Any advice for her? I tend not to give advice because it is taken out of context, but I have been in Meghan’s shoes, and I still am,” Sarah told the magazine. “I abhor bullying and I feel desperately sorry for the pain they must be going through because I’ve been through it,” she went on.

The film producer shared the same thoughts when asked how she feels, as a mother, watching Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie being criticized and hated, along with the other members of the Royal family. Sarah Ferguson also revealed that she and Princess Diana had an amazing time together when the latter was still alive.

To recall, Meghan Markle opened up about struggling with media scrutiny in an ITV interview in October. In the clip, the Duchess was heard saying that no one really asked about her emotional well-being after she welcomed baby Archie.

“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” Meghan Markle told Tom Bradby in the “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” documentary. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s, um…yeah. I guess, also, thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes,” the former “Suits” actress continued.

At the moment, Meghan Markle is said to be in the United States along with Prince Harry and Baby Archie. The Sussex family, as per royal reporter Omid Scobie, spent Thanksgiving Day in Los Angeles. The trio is also expected to spend their first Christmas together as a family with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
