Meghan Markle was recently spotted in New York City with her royal aides.

The Duchess of Sussex attempted to keep her arrival in the Big Apple as low-key as possible by wearing a trendy cap over her head and keeping it down the entire time. However, the paparazzi still managed to capture a picture of the pregnant royal.

Markle is believed to have flown from London to New York for a five-day trip to visit her close friends. There are also some rumors suggesting that she may have a baby shower in the country since this is a common practice among Americans but not among Brits.

During the sighting, Markle was also seen wearing a black trench coat that highlighted her growing baby bump. This somewhat confirmed that she was actually the one in the photos. Her husband, Prince Harry, was not with her since the baby shower is only intended for the “Suits” alum and her female friends.

“This trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves. This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments,” a source told Harper’s Bazaar.

Meanwhile, Markle also debunked the ongoing rumors that pregnant members of the royal family are not allowed to travel by plane. Victoria Arbiter, a royal etiquette expert, told 9Honey that royals can travel by plane when they are pregnant.

When Queen Elizabeth II found out that she was pregnant in 1959, she was on her tour of Canada. Her Majesty didn’t return home to England, but she simply had bigger clothes made and shipped to her home in the country. When she returned home, her pregnancy was announced.

In February 1982, Princess Diana also went on her second honeymoon with Prince Charles to Bermuda and Bahamas. At that time, she was already 6 months pregnant with Prince William.
