Meghan Markle will be visiting her mom but not her dad.

The Duchess of Sussex is taking a solo trip abroad. It was reported earlier that Markle took a flight to Toronto without Prince Harry. Markle would be visiting her friend, Jessica Mulroney, as they never saw each other after the royal wedding.

After visiting his friend, Markle is expected to fly to Los Angeles to see her mother Doria Ragland. According to Daniel Khalili-Tari, a journalist for Express, although the royal has plans to see her mom, she has no intention meet her father, Thomas Markle Sr.

Ragland is the only family member of Markle who attended her royal wedding to Prince Harry. Thomas was invited, but he canceled in the last minute. According to him, he had to undergo a heart surgery. But an insider claimed that the story was made up because he needed to have a solid excuse not to attend the big event following his photo scandal.

An insider told The Sunday Times that Prince Harry and Markle "are not going to engage" with Thomas. They also have no plans to set the record straight by offering support to Thomas in public.

"Meghan doesn't think it's a fair game between her father and the media so she's not going to engage in it or instruct anyone on her behalf to set the record straight," the source said.

"There have always been fears over his vulnerability. Now he's got himself into a cycle of talking publicly. It's very sad."

Markle shared earlier that she had a good relationship with her dad. In fact, one of the advice she would never forget was from Thomas. When she was younger she had to fill out a form that included ticking a box to identify her race it has four options: "white," "black," "Hispanic" and "Asian." Since Markle was of mixed race, she didn't know what to check, so she left it unanswered and told her dad about it when she got home.

"And in one of those parenting moments that no guidebook could ever prep you for, my dad said words which will stay with me forever. Draw your own box," Markle recalled. "He wanted me to see beyond that census placed in front of me. He wanted me to find my own truth."
