Meghan Markle's father celebrated his birthday with a happy meal from McDonald's.

On Wednesday, Markle's dad, Thomas Markle Sr., celebrated his 74th birthday. He was spotted in Los Angeles buying a McDonald's Happy Meal and running errands at a Bank of America and UPS store. Later on that day, he was seen heading to a Best Buy store to pick up a number of electronics.

Thomas reportedly drove six hours from his home in Rosarito, Mexico on Tuesday night and checked into a $130-a-night motel in the city. While in LA, he also went and visited some of his friends in a nearby apartment complex.

Thomas' birthday came a day after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition in London. According to him, he never heard from his daughter following his interview on ITV's "Good Morning Britain." He added that it's the longest time he never talked to Markle and he fears that he might die without speaking to the duchess again.

"I could actually die soon. Does she want this to be the last thing we've said to each other?" Thomas said. "It is probably the longest time I have gone without speaking to her ever. I just want to clear the air and tell her how proud I am of her."

Just recently, a source close to the new royal claimed that Thomas just faked his heart surgery. He reportedly just made it up so he would have a good excuse to not attend the royal wedding following his photo scandal.

"The whole story about Meghan's father undergoing heart surgery was made up," the insider said. "He had to come up with a good enough reason not to attend her wedding and avoid any further embarrassment after those staged photos went public."

"The poor health story was his way of generating some compassion from the public, and taking the attention off those staged photos which were a complete embarrassment to Meghan and the royal family," the source continued. "It was really just such poor judgment on his part. Now everyone's feeling sorry for him. They shouldn't. He brought this upon himself and if he were truly sick Meghan would have made an effort to visit him. Don't feel sorry for him. If anything, feel sorry for Meghan."

Daily Mail reached out to Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center to confirm Thomas' surgery. The clinic said that "no such name" ever checked into their facility.
