Meghan Markle’s mom Doria Ragland looked like a “deer in the headlights” on her wedding day, her dad Thomas Markle Sr. said.

The Duchess of Sussex’s dad shockingly graced another interview with Channel 5. During the documentary, Thomas talked about Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding and he commented on his ex-wife’s look.

Thomas said that Markle’s mother looked like a “deer in the headlights” at the Windsor during the Sussexes’ royal wedding. He added that Ragland shouldn’t have been made to sit alone.

Markle’s dad continued saying that it reminded him of the early days of their relationship in Los Angeles. He recalled that when they were still living in the mostly-white neighborhood, Ragland was often mistaken for the “housekeeper,” news.com.au reported.

According to CheatSheet, Markle’s parents divorced when she was 6 years old. Following Ragland and Thomas’ separation, Markle remained close to both. However, she spent most of her time with her mom who raised her.

Markle’s uncle Joseph Johnson said that their mom believed in not sparing the rod. However, Doria didn’t spank Markle because it was not necessary. He also praised how his niece turned out to be a disciplined person.

“You raise a more reasonable person that's easy to discipline. They understand a different way what you're trying to discipline them for and it was just a beautiful thing to know that she had never been spanked and how pleasant she turned out,” Johnson said.

Thomas also confessed that he was jealous of Prince Charles who walked his daughter down the aisle. Markle’s dad revealed that he was staying at a safe house when Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot. He only watched the wedding ceremony on TV.

“I wish that I could have been there with her. I was certainly appreciative Charles was there,” Thomas said.

At present, Thomas considers his relationship with Markle complicated. He felt that for them, he doesn’t exist. However, he reminded them that they are a family.

He also defended his decision in getting cash for the interview. According to Thomas, the royal family, Prince Harry and Markle owe him. Also, the duchess promised him that she would take care of him in his senior years and he is already at this stage, so he reminded Markle of her promise.
