Meghan Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, has been dubbed as an attention-seeking hanger-on by Australian royal commentators.

In the podcast “Royals” hosted by Rebecca Hyde and Angela Mollard, the latter criticized Markle’s “tricky relatives.” She said that Samantha is an attention-seeking hanger-on for deciding to change her surname to Markle after the Duchess of Sussex got engaged to Prince Harry. Prior to the royal wedding, Samantha used Grant as her surname.

The hosts of the podcast also gave their opinion on how Prince Harry’s wife can deal with her family’s ongoing feud. They said that the “Suits” alum should reach out to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., first and be the one to extend an olive branch.

Markle is reportedly worried that talking to her dad may cause more problems for her, Prince Harry, and the royal family. The 74-year-old former lighting director regularly gives interviews in an attempt to capture his daughter’s attention. Markle is fearful that the details of her conversation with her dad will be exposed.

“If he then goes and reports that meeting, she’s then within her rights to really finally stop all contact with him. The fact that she’s not doing that, I think, speaks volumes about how she really does feel about her family and how she wants to separate from them,” Mollard said.

In related news, Samantha is not the only member of the Markle clan that recently made headlines. Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr. was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Thomas Jr. was driving in Oregon when police stopped him at 1:30 a.m. on Friday.

Thomas Jr. was taken into custody for impaired driving, and he was visibly intoxicated. Markle’s half-brother’s car was also impounded by the police following his arrest.

Markle’s dad told TMZ that his son has a serious problem and said that he hopes he can get the help that he needs.

Last week, Thomas Jr. invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to his upcoming wedding in Las Vegas. However, it is highly unlikely for the royal couple to attend his special day.
