Meghan Markle’s unprofessional behavior is a big “no-no” for a duchess.

The Duchess of Sussex has a habit of putting her hands inside her pocket. According to a Twitter user, “hand in the pocket is a no, no, & no for a duchess.” The netizen added that Markle should stop courting attention by breaking rules because she knew who her husband was before she applied to be his wife.

Etiquette expert William Hanson said that the gesture was a “step too far” for a new royal. He felt that by being too casual it looked “unprofessional.”

“We know that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pioneering a new, relaxed, tactile branch of monarchy but having hands in the pocket is a step too far,” Hanson told Daily Mail.

“There is good casual and there is bad casual. Placing a hand in the pocket is too relaxed and unprofessional, however dressed down Prince Harry and his wife may have been. Will the world end? No. It is just a small blip in Meghan’s usually delightful manners that can be easily corrected for future engagements.”

Meanwhile, body language expert Judi James said that Markle’s bad habits had something more to do with fashion and not being laid back. According to her, it was a signal that Markle had a subliminal desire to hide.

The gesture is very helpful when one doesn’t know what to do with her hands especially when the public is watching her every move. However, since Markle has high levels of confidence, the gesture of putting her hand in her pocket is more to do with fashion than anxiety. It could also be a nod to her love for the 50’s fashion.

In related news, there are rumors that Prince Harry and Markle would be leaving the royal family. According to an insider, they will lose their free residence, free security and the right to use the royal collection.
