  • Barron Trump missed Donald Trump while he was campaigning for president in 2016
  • Barron Trump is interested in the presidential polls
  • Donald Trump thinks his youngest son's interest in the polls is cute

Melania Trump and Donald Trump previously talked about their teenage son, Barron Trump, during an interview shortly before the POTUS got elected as the president of the United States.

While speaking with ABC News, interviewer George Stephanopoulos asked the couple how their young son is taking the massive changes in their lives since the POTUS was running for the top job.

And since President Trump was also making headlines at that time due to his controversial statements, Stephanopoulos wanted to know how Barron reacted to them.

The FLOTUS said that she makes it a point to teach her son and explain to him what’s going on. Luckily, Barron was able to take things really well.

“I keep him balanced and-- just have him a childhood as normal as possible. And he's enjoying his school and his sports. He's a great athlete. And I just want to have him-- out of the spotlight for now,” the first lady said.

Melania also revealed that her son regularly asked her about the news, and he also wanted to get updates regarding the polls, which is something that he inherited from the POTUS.

Upon hearing the first lady’s response, President Trump called his son’s interest in the polls very cute.

“He’s… Of course, he misses his dad – a lot these days. But he’s doing great,” the FLOTUS said.

And since the POTUS is campaigning for president in this year's election, it is possible that he doesn't get to spend much time with his youngest son.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the only time that Melania lovingly talked about her only son. During her interview with Parenting magazine in 2017, she revealed that Barron is not like other kids who enjoy playing with their friends.

The 13-year-old reportedly enjoys his time alone, and he prefers to play by himself for hours. Some of his favorite activities when he was much younger included building tower structures and Legos. At present, he’s become more interested in sports, particularly golf.

One of Barron’s nicknames is Little Donald, which was given to him by his mother. After all, the FLOTUS said that he’s smart, independent, and opinionated just like his dad.
